A new furniture store determined their dock configuration was inadequate for a customer pick-up and delivery area. Due to limited space, the easiest solution was to eliminate the recycling program to accommodate a bigger customer pick-up area. The store turned to us to for a cost / benefit analysis of the recycling program.
Our consulting firm provided a side-by-side cost comparison of a waste program that included recycling vs. a solid waste only program. In reviewing our findings, we determined that a recycling program would save the store $4,000 per year.
We arranged a conference call between the construction management company and the hauler. Together, a configuration that would accommodate both the recycling and the larger customer pick-up area was devised. As a result, a cost-effective solution was implemented.
